Inner Western Courier Thursday Not Used Anymore : November 12th 2008
2 INNER-WEST WEEKLY, Thursday, November 13, 2008 MB Locked out and ruined From Page 1 The pair said on Friday, November 7, at 4.15pm they received a fax to be out of the premises by 5pm Saturday, November 8, but didn't think any action would be taken until Monday. ''We had 24 hours to leave and we were like chooks with no heads on,'' Mr Catalano said. ''We had no time to get tradespeople to help us move all our equipment, which can take weeks to arrange. ''He said to Peter, 'You signed the lease, sell your house, pay the rent'.'' Mr Catalano is devastated that he cannot enter the prop- erty to retrieve any of his personal belongings. ''I have all my tools in there, all my personal things such as house keys and the keys to the cars in the yard and I can't even go and get them.'' ''I'm a diabetic, I got my tablets in there, I've got re- corded doctor's appointments, they are all inside on my desk.'' Mr Catalano sells cars priced from $2000 to $7000 and said it had taken him 16 months to build a good reputation with his customers. ''But with those eviction signs at the front, it destroys my goodwill.'' The tenants said all they wanted to do was to leave. ''We want to take our goods, pay our rent up until we are here and leave . . . we don't want him as a landlord,'' Mr Catalano said. ''We are very angry and very upset. There is no law (to say) that we can get our own equipment out of the place so we can go somewhere else and try and make a living.''
