Inner Western Courier Thursday Not Used Anymore : January 7th 2009
MB INNER-WEST WEEKLY, Thursday, January 8, 2009 21 STREETVIEW It's make or break time Bronwyn Canavan Terry Robinson Don McDonald Meryl Wilson Scott Johnson With 2009 here already, it's time for New Year's resolutions. We asked five people on the streets of Burwood about their plans for the coming year and whether they will stick to their resolutions if they make them. Bronwyn Canavan, of Burwood: My plan for the year is much the same as last year. Nothing much is new. I would like to stay healthy. Can you have a New Year's resolution to stay healthy? Terry Robinson, of Concord West: I hope that we can pull ourselves through this financial problem in the world. It affects everybody. I think we've just got to spend what we normally spend and not overdo it. My other resolution would be to get the new Concord Museum finished. Don McDonald, of West Pennant Hills: I don't really have one. When I usually make resolutions, I usually break them. I think some people are probably more committed. I'd like to lose 15kg, have less hours of work and less hours of stressful work. I would like to go on a nice big family holiday. Meryl Wilson, of Strathfield: My resolutions are to lose weight and exercise more. I've just had a knee replacement so exercise has got to happen! We're very conservative and disciplined. The best resolution is to just try to enjoy your life as much as you can. Scott Johnson, of Wollongong: Every year you say you're not going to drink, then drink next week. I want to lower my golf handicap. I started getting lessons a month ago and I'm slowly improving. I'm also in a rock band so I would like to play more gigs. But that's not a resolution; it's just going to happen. OPINION Over 50 Specialty Stores, FREE 3 hour shopper carparking 42 - 50 Railway Parade, Burwood.
