Picture: PHIL BLATCH ~PP247704 Hospital says thanks to loyal volunteers CONCORD Hospital rewarded the hard work and commitment of its volunteers by hosting a morning tea on February 16 -- NSW Health Volunteer Appreciation Day. Over 80 hospital-based volunteers of all ages provide support to patients and staff wherever needed. Concord Hospital's acting general man- ager Belle Mangan said the volunteers made a big difference in the lives of patients, their families and hospital staff. ''Concord Hospital has always been known as a friendly and caring place, and our volunteers have contributed to this in a big way,'' Ms Mangan said. ''They work tirelessly to support those in need and assist the hospital whenever possible.'' Peggy Dickinson, 85, has volunteered at Concord for the past 11 years. ''Volunteers at the hospital do numerous jobs, escorting patients around the hospital, assisting with market day and helping patients whenever needed,'' she said. ''I enjoy working at Concord, it is like a big family, everyone has a place and everyone is very friendly from the cleaners, to the doctors and nurses.'' Frasers Broadway Community Meeting The Modified Concept Plan for Frasers Broadway (the former old Kent Brewery site) has been approved by the NSW Minister for Planning. We would like to invite you to attend a community meeting to find out more about the approved and future plans for the site. When: Wednesday 4 March 2009 Time: 6pm to 8 pm Where: On site old Fosters Brewery Office (Level 2) on Broadway (entrance through the heritage archway near the corner of Kensington Street) Frasers Broadway project team members will give a presentation and will be available to answer questions on the approved concept plan and the upcoming Project Application submissions.
