MB INNER-WEST WEEKLY, Thursday, March 12, 2009 15 NEWS Charity queen's sale Joyce Duncan, of Five Dock, is holding a garage sale at her house to raise money for burns victims. Picture: BRENT McGILVARY ~PP252948 FIVE Dock's fundraising queen Joyce Duncan is at it again. The big-hearted 75-year- old is holding a charity garage sale on Friday and Saturday at her First Avenue home. It's a Day of Difference Foundation fundraiser to help the burns victims of the Victorian bushfires. Among the items for sale will be toys, books, glassware, clothes, paintings and pictures. ''We've got some great things, lots of baby gear in particular,'' Mrs Duncan said. ''Donations are always welcome though.'' The Day of Difference Foundation was set up in 2004 by the parents of Sophie Delezio -- the little girl who suffered life- threatening burns after a car crashed into her Fairlight childcare centre. The charity helps children with severe burns by funding new research and better medical treatment. Mrs Duncan met the Delezio family through her work as a volunteer at the children's hospital. She has raised $20,000 for the foundation through her fundraisers. ''People have always been very supportive,'' Mrs Duncan said. The garage sale is on from 8am to 4pm on Friday and Saturday and is at 102 First Ave, Five Dock.
