Tell us at www.innerwestweekly.com.au FOUR teenagers were injured after the elevated playground shade sail which they and friends were lying on collapsed in Burwood Park last weekend. Police, fire and ambulance offi- cers responded to an emergency call at 3.05am on Sunday. Three boys and a girl, between the ages of 16 and 19 years, suffered suspected spinal injuries after a shade sail they were thought to be sleeping on col- lapsed, sending them crashing 4m to the ground. An Ambulance Service spokes- man said spinal precautions were taken with the injured teens be- fore they were taken to hospital. Two of the teenagers were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown and another two to Westmead Hospital. Nearby residents have been re- ported as saying they suspected the sail had caught fire, possibly from a cigarette lighter. Police investigations are continuing. BRIEFLY Cuts for a cause AFTER a colleague was diagnosed with leukemia and only given two weeks to live, staff from a local tyre wholesaler were inspired to chop off their locks. Two staff members from Tyres4U in Ashfield cut their hair to a number two in support of the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave. Kerry White and Maureen Boughey raised $3110 in donations from other employees, relatives and friends. Santo La Rocca, owner of Tender Loving Cuts in Ashfield, was asked to do the honours. B.J. safe again LUCK was on B.J. Rorke's side on So You Think You Can Dance but not so for his former dance partner Gianne Abbot. Lidcombe's Rorke danced with Amy Campbell on Sunday night's show. But Monday night's verdict show left the judges and contestants disappointed when Abbot and Jamaican contemporary dancer Loredo Malcolm left the show. Rorke was announced safe for another week. Water all clear ENFIELD Pool has been given the all-clear after lab results show no signs of the cryptosporidium bug. Following the Health Department's recent report which revealed the cryptosporidium bug was present in many Sydney public swimming pools, Burwood Council immediately tested the pool and received bonus points for having exceptionally clear and safe water.
