MB INNER-WEST WEEKLY, Thursday, May 7, 2009 15 NEWS BRIEFLY Centres in spotlight COMMUNITY Services Minister Linda Burney has launched the Department of Community Services' blitz on childcare centres, preschools and other children's services to ensure they are complying with regulations protecting children. The inspection campaign follows reports and incidents of children being left at childcare centres without the knowledge or supervision of staff, or left unattended after the centres had closed for the day. The launch, with UnitingCare children's services director Elizabeth Death, was held at the Ella Community Child Care centre at Haberfield on Monday. No loafing around STAFF at Bakers Delight in Rhodes have used their loaf to triumph in a baking competition.
