Council recently installed 26 Safe-T- Bike racks, providing 52 bike parking facilities at our local shopping villages. Cycle and Shop is a chance for our community to reap all the bene ts of cycling, support local business and win great prizes. From 5-26 June simply cycle to your local shops, spend $30 at a participating store, show your helmet and complete the entry form to go in the draw. There are some great local businesses supporting this promotion. For further details visit Council's website. Also being launched tomorrow is the 2009 Sustainability Awards. There are a number of new categories in this years awards so stay tuned for further details. Council is working on delivering e-communications services to our community and is now taking registrations of interest from residents who would like to receive future rates noti cations via email. Residents can now also subscribe to receive a number of e-newsletters with information about Council, local events and local business. Council's artist of the month is Julian Meagher. Julian Meagher's practice has stemmed from his previous studies and practice as a doctor. An accomplished painter, Meagher has been commissioned to paint portraits of a number of notable gures Marshall. A nalist in both this year's Doug Moran Portrait Prize and in The Salon Des Refuses, Meagher's work has been collected in private and public collections in Australia investigated relationships between the body and painting and the art of tattoo.
