The Sustainability Awards are presented to businesses, community groups and individuals who have achieved economic, social or environmental progress in the City of Canada Bay. Categories include awards for heritage, sustainable, environment, business and more. Nominations for the 2009 awards close on Friday, 24 July. Nominate early for your chance to win a ticket to the prestigious awards dinner to be held in September. All award nalists also receive a complimentary ticket to the awards dinner. Council's Cycle and Shop program is a chance for the community to reap the bene ts of cycling and win great prizes while supporting local business. Until Friday, 26 June simply cycle to your local shops, spend $30 at a participating store, show your helmet and complete the entry form to go in the draw. There are many fantastic local businesses supporting this promotion so now is a great time to get cycling! NAIDOC Week 2009 will be held from 5-12 July. NAIDOC is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians in various elds. City of Canada Bay Mayor's message Photography exhibition Notice of Public Exhibition Tender - Taplin Park boat ramp to the Canada Bay Development Control Plan and Mortlake Point Development Control Plan. On Tuesday, 2 June 2009 Council resolved to publicly exhibit the draft Canada Bay Development Control Plan and Mortlake Point Development Control Plan (the DCPs). The amendments follow a 12 month review of the DCPs and updates content and provides additional clari cation. The draft DCPs and supporting information will be placed on public exhibition for a period of 28 days from Thursday, 18 June to Wednesday, 15 July 2009 at Council Libraries and the Canada Bay Civic Centre. Council is seeking tenders from suitably quali ed and experienced contractors to design and construct the Taplin Park boat ramp extension and articulated ramp pontoon. Tender documents are available for a non- refundable fee of $65 (including GST) from Customer Service at Canada Bay Civic Centre, 1A Marlborough Street, Drummoyne, between 8:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Essential tendering requirements are detailed in the Conditions of Tendering inclusive of Tender Form and Schedules and supporting documents, information and details required to submit a conforming tender. It is the tenderers responsibility to fully inform themselves in regard to the requirements of the Conditions of Tendering. Five Dock Library is exhibiting the winning entries in the Urban Nature Photography competition run by the Parramatta Catchment Group. The photographs explore the biodiversity of the area and the environmental impact of human and industrial activity along the Parramatta River. Come and visit the library to see some of the fantastic photos taken by the Canada Bay community. The photographs will be on exhibition until Sunday, 28 June. The Canada Bay Museum is now open and is located at 1 Bent St, Concord. The museum features an exciting collection that has been sourced from all over the City and ranges from 1915 to the 1970's. Included in the collection are items that uniquely represent the history of Canada Bay such as Arnott's and Bushells memorabilia. Museum opening hours are Wednesday and Saturday weekly from 10am-4pm. Canada Bay Museum Small business book club Come along to Council's next Small Business Book Club. Sure-Fire Steps to Small Business Success will unravel the mystery of 'business strategy'. Author Graham Kenny is a small business owner and specialist in strategic planning and performance measurement. Graham Kenny comes to Concord Library on Wednesday, 8 July at 6.30pm.
