16 INNER-WEST WEEKLY, Thursday, July 3, 2008 SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES www.innerwestweekly.com.au It's slime time at Ashfield Mall POPULAR children's characters will enter- tain at Ashfield Mall these school holidays. Next week will see Ashfield Mall welcome the gang from The Backyardigans in a fun activity workshop. The free workshop will be open from Monday, July 7, to Friday, July 11, from 11am to 2pm daily on level 4. Slime Time Live begins on Monday, July 14, as an interactive game show based on all the favourite Nicktoon characters. Slime Time Live gets kids involved and up on stage with fun games and also has, you guessed it, slime. Shows are every day from Monday to Friday at 11am and 1pm on level 4 centre stage. ''Parents are always looking for some- thing to do in the winter school holidays and Ashfield Mall has all the entertainment with these great interactive activities,'' Ashfield Mall marketing manager Valentina Zdravevski said. Students stay fit and healthy KEEPING teenagers occupied and active during the school holidays can be difficult, so Fitness First North Strathfield has launched the Fitness First Initiative for Teenagers Holiday program. The program gives 14-18-year-olds free access to the gym during the holidays, where they can use the equipment and take part in group fitness classes. Members must take part in an induction before working out. The induction introduces students to the equipment in the gym and outlines the times when the gym is available to them. All members receive a swipe card on the first day of entry, which is valid until the end of the school holiday period. Students need to be signed in on the first day by a parent or carer aged over 18 years. Parents/carers also benefit with a free three-day pass.
