PREMIER Morris Iemma has publicly chastised Drummoyne State Labor MP Angela D'Amore for publicly revealing her concerns about the govern- ment's performance. Ms D'Amore told media that people couldn't wait 10 years for better transport and health ser- vices, and that residents didn't believe government policy documents any more. She criticised Caucus for not listening to backbench MPs. Mr Iemma said she should have raised her concerns with his ministers first. ''There are forums in which she can raise her views,'' Mr Iemma told the media. ''We all prefer to see them raised with the ministers themselves.'' Mr Iemma said he rang Ms D'Amore on the weekend and told her that his ''door was always open''. ''I made the point we were just together in the electorate three weeks ago,'' he said. ''We had a walk through Five Dock and she had a cappuccino and an Italian dessert and she could have raised things with me then if she had a concern. ''She chose not to do so. She knows my number.'' Mr Iemma said Ms D'Amore was a good MP and a strong advocate for her constituents. Ms D'Amore is related by marriage to right-wing Labor MP Joe Tripodi, part of Mr Iemma's own faction. She has a background in the trade union movement and holds her seat by an 8 per cent margin. The incident follows an out- burst by Camden MP Geoff Corrigan whose comments that Mr Iemma was ''living in a parallel universe'' if he thought the government was doing well, were leaked to the media. Mr Iemma said much of the criticism was because of the government's plans to privatise electricity. He said he had no intention of backing down or relinquishing leadership. Ms D'Amore declined re- peated requests for comment this week.
