John Hall and Vicki Carroll (pictured) were overwhelmed when they won two awards at last year's gala ceremony. Five Dock's focus4it computer sales, services and repair shop picked up the Business and Professional Services award and the major prize -- Local Business of the Year. Mr Hall said the business had expanded since winning the awards. ''We've been growing, continually growing,'' he said. ''We're expanding, we're adding new services.'' The awards, sponsored by Vodafone, cover a range of categories and readers get the chance to nominate their favourite businesses. See Page 9 for details Found a local business worth raving about? Picture: MATT BLACK PRODUCTIONS POLICE are investigating a sus- picious fire in a Burwood law firm in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The first floor premises of the Lighthouse Law Group at 197 Burwood Rd suffered extensive damage in the fire, which hap- pened about 1.30am. Emergency services were called to the scene and Burwood fire station officer Matthew Murray said fire crews didn't take long to bring the blaze under control. ''They got in quickly with two lines of hose and knocked it down very quickly,'' he said. In the following hours police sealed off the building and said they were treating the fire as suspicious. Adjoining shops were closed due to property damage, including neighbouring firm Photios Vouroudis & Co Solicitors. ''It was a shock this morning, the whole area's in shock,'' Mary Vouroudis said. ''The police and the fire brigade have been around and this morning we were all gathered out the front waiting for the power to come back on and for the tradesmen to come. ''We're separated by a double brick wall, but there's soot every- where -- and the smell. ToPage2
