Xenia Deviatkina-Loh, of Burwood, who plays violin, won the Senior Section prize of $1000 and the KPO Players Award worth $200. News about TAFE TAFE teachers and students will visit Homebush Boys High to speak about courses in web design, digital arts and graphic design next week, and Lidcombe College will hold an open day on Tuesday from noon. This Sunday is National Tree Day and Council is hosting a tree planting/family fun day at Hudson Park Oval from 10am. I invite residents and community groups to come along and plant a tree to help make our Municipality a greener one. As well as that, next week is Local Government Week and we'll be celebrating by holding a number of free activities, displays and giveaways from Monday 28 July to Sunday 3 August. One of the events being held is a Council open day on Wednesday 30 July. I look forward to meeting many community members at these various events over the course of the week.
